Our Story

Noel & Tricia first met in Plymouth, UK, during the Autumn of 1975, when Noel visited the city to play some gigs. Over the following months, they developed a good friendship and their first official 'date' was writing a song together.

From 1976 until 1980, they gigged throughout the West of England with some of their friends, in a band called 'Shamgar'. During that time, they recorded their first album, in a friend's home studio in Cawsand, Cornwall. They also found time to get married in September 1978

Their songs have 'opened doors' for them over many years and perhaps they are best known for 'All Heaven Declares', which seems to have reached right across the globe and been covered by many other artists. Noel has played in more than 35 countries with his band and he and Tricia have been privileged to travel a lot of the world together.

Since 2010, they have made their home in Palma, on the Spanish mediterranean island of Mallorca. It is an inspiring place to live and since moving there, they have recorded their first two CDs as 'Noel & Tricia Richards'. In 2017, they released their third EP - "Quiet My Soul".

Their current events go under the title 'An Evening with Noel & Tricia Richards' and during a two hour programme, they share songs and stories about life, love, friendship and faith. They are happy to perform in peoples' homes (if they have a large enough lounge for 25/30 people), cafes, bars, theatres and anywhere that an audience will show up to listen.

In 1980, they moved to Cobham, just outside London and during the course of the next 30 years, raised a family (son & daughter) and continued to write and occasionally perform together. Noel spent some time gigging in wine bars and as their songs became better known, he travelled continually, playing in venues from street corners to stadiums.

They planned and organised a huge gig at London's famous Wembley Stadium in 1997, which attracted a crowd of almost 45,000.
